Founder & Academic Director

Dr. Chance M. Glenn, Sr. is an engineer, entrepreneur, educator, and technology innovator with more than three decades of experience leading advanced research, technology commercialization, and workforce development initiatives. As Founder and President of Morningbird Space Corporation and a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Alabama A&M University, Dr. Glenn has secured and managed numerous federally funded research and development programs, including NASA, NSF, Department of Defense, and Department of Energy initiatives. He is a recognized expert in SBIR/STTR proposal development and commercialization, having successfully led the preparation of winning proposals and guided startups and research organizations from concept through commercialization. His expertise also spans additive manufacturing, autonomous robotics, advanced engineering systems, and technology-based business development. Through The Morningbird Academy, Dr. Glenn is committed to equipping entrepreneurs, engineers, researchers, and innovators with the practical knowledge and strategies needed to compete successfully for federal funding, develop transformative technologies, and build sustainable innovation-driven enterprises.

Carlton is a Navy veteran and accomplished operations leader with extensive experience in management, team supervision, and organizational leadership. Throughout his career, he has worked across the internet, wireless, academic, financial, and space sectors, where he has led operational improvements, managed diverse teams, and developed solutions to complex organizational challenges. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and is committed to continuous learning, collaboration, and helping organizations achieve their goals through effective planning, strong communication, and practical leadership. His pastimes include spending quality time with family, reading, enjoying the outdoors, and fitness.

Latonia Jones

Government Contracting

Latonia Jones is an experienced leader with more than 28 years of working in the federal acquisition and government contracting field. She founded Phenomenal Management Partners to help minority-owned small businesses, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) gain more opportunities to compete for federal government contracts.

As a proud graduate of an HBCU, Latonia earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Logistics and Procurement from Alabama A&M University. She also earned a Master’s degree in Contract Acquisition Management from the Florida Institute of Technology.

During her career, Latonia served as a Senior Professional Staffer for the House Committee on Homeland Security, where she focused on improving federal acquisition policies. She worked to increase opportunities for small and minority-owned businesses to participate in major government contracts.

Questions, answered

Most courses fit students aged 12 and up, including middle school, high school, and homeschool. Adult makers are welcome too. The Classroom Robotics track is built for teachers running a STEM program with a group of students.
Robotics Foundations, Arduino & Motion Programming, and 3D Printing run online with a kit shipped to you. Classroom Robotics is in person or hybrid, scheduled with your school. We’ll confirm format when you enroll.
Robotics Foundations starts from zero, no experience needed. Arduino & Motion Programming assumes you’ve finished Foundations and have your kit. The 3D Printing course needs access to a printer, at home, school, or a local makerspace. Every course lists its requirements on the card above.
