What if the pursuit of God is not a matter of blind faith—but of hypothesis, observation, and personal evidence?
In Chasing God, Dr. Chance Glenn—a scientist, engineer, inventor, and educator—invites readers into an uncommon exploration: the intersection of scientific reasoning and spiritual longing. This is not a work of reconciliation. It is not an attempt to prove or disprove. It is a pursuit—an open inquiry into whether something greater exists, and if so, how it reveals itself in a world governed by laws, complexity, and chaos.
From his upbringing in the Deep South to the halls of research laboratories, from quantum mechanics to gospel music, Glenn draws on a lifetime of experience to pose hard questions about the nature of reality, the silence of God, and the limits of human understanding. Along the way, he examines the myths we inherit, the systems we build, and the unexplained moments that science alone cannot fully account for.
Chasing God is a narrative of intellectual and personal curiosity. It is a journey through belief and skepticism, data and dreams. Glenn does not seek certainty. He seeks clarity.
For the reader unafraid of ambiguity—for the believer who values evidence, and the skeptic who respects mystery—this book is an invitation to ask deeper questions about what might lie just beyond the edge of what we know.
Dr. Chance M. Glenn, Sr. is an engineer, academic leader, inventor, and musician whose career bridges science, technology, education, and the arts. He is currently a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Alabama A&M University, where he also serves as Director of the Space Engineering, Technology, and Innovation (SETI) Laboratory.
Previously, Dr. Glenn was Dean of the College of Engineering, Technology, and Physical Sciences at Alabama A&M University, where he guided major expansions in research, academic programs, and workforce development. He also founded and served as President and Executive Director of the Alabama A&M University Research, Innovation, Science, and Engineering (AAMU-RISE) Foundation, leading efforts to strengthen the university’s research enterprise and industry partnerships.
Following his tenure as Dean, Dr. Glenn served as Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at the University of Houston–Victoria. In this role, he oversaw academic programs across the university, led successful accreditation reviews, and championed new initiatives such as the creation of an aviation program and the development of strategic partnerships.
Dr. Glenn is the founder and President/Chief Scientist of Morningbird Space Corporation, a company dedicated to advanced technologies in additive manufacturing, robotics, and space systems. He holds multiple patents, including the Electronic Alchemy eForge, the world’s first multi-material 3D printer capable of printing functional electronics. His research spans experimental spacetime distortion, novel propulsion systems, bioelectromagnetics, and educational robotics.
Beyond engineering, Dr. Glenn is a published songwriter and recording artist. His album The Praise Project: First Fruits was label-nominated for a Grammy Award in 2000. He went on to release Chance Glenn: Jesus Is Faithful and, most recently, Chance Glenn: A Christmas Gift. His music, like his scientific work, reflects his lifelong exploration of creativity, faith, and the search for deeper meaning.
He grew up in Dothan, Alabama, and his journey from humble beginnings to national recognition embodies his commitment to curiosity, perseverance, and faith in the pursuit of truth.
